Why We Need To Maintain Our Immune System

As Darwin plainly stated, evolution is all about survival of the fittest. In the course of evolution, our species stood out amongst the rest. We developed to be the most advanced and intelligent creatures in the world.
We survived because our bodies are strong enough to ward of health detractors. We have to rely on the immune system to fight off invasion by bacteria, viruses and other harmful elements.
The immune system helps us keep harmful organisms from getting into our bodies. With our immune system, these elements cannot proliferate. Without the protection of the immune system, our bodies are open to all types of foreign elements that are detrimental to our health. Imagine a decaying body. In just a couple of hours, you will see the first signs of microorganisms eating it up. The immune system automatically halts to a stop when the body dies. This is will happen to us if we do not have the natural protection of the immune system.
Weak bodies usually have weak immune system or natural protection. With weak and sickly bodies, its so easy to get infected. Among these are tonsillitis, croup, angina, cold, cough and many more. Without any defense mechanism, our bodies will easily get infected with these.
Croup is an infection on the upper respiratory tract. The virus causes the throat to swell, which hinders normal breathing. The treatment to this disease is epinephrine, steroids and antiviral treatments.
Bacteria and certain viruses cause Tonsillitis. Symptoms of tonsillitis are fever and flu. For bacterial tonsillitis, antibiotics are enough. However, there hasn’t been any treatment found to shorten the duration of tonsillitis due to viruses. Chronic tonsillitis on the other hand requires tonsillectomy.
In order to maintain optimum health, we have to start with our immune system. It’s the best way to prevent viral and bacterial invasion.
Millions of microorganisms threaten to invade the body all the time. It is important that we keep our immune system strong. Click here for treatments on angina, croup and tonsillitis.
