The United States of America is the world’s oldest democracy in the truest sense of the concept. At least, that’s the perception. What our forefathers created was a very effective system that empowered the individual and created a strong government but also included measures to keep the powers of the government in check. Their vision and their genius is what made the United States that it is today. They were right, they designed the constitution to be inherently flexible. Something that could evolve and change as required. However, this very flexibility is being exploited by groups and individuals to further their own interest and thereby creating a system that suppresses individual freedom.

The forefathers mandated the existence of only two political parties. Ensuring a conflict of opinions and ideas but not a conflict of interest. The republicans are the ones with conservative views while the democrats believe in more liberal policies. This fundamental difference in ideologies ensures that the congress gets to see both sides of the coin before any decisions are made.

For instance, the republicans are pro military while the democrats are not. The democrats opine that there are other more important matters to focus on rather than spending too much on the armed forces. Yes, the conservative view of the republicans has its place. They help keep the nation on track and faithful to its roots.

In contrast the liberal policies helps the nation evolve. This contrast in function and ideology helps ensure that a constant balance is maintained at all times. Some conservative policies are logically sound while the liberal policies seem more like short term work arounds. The republicans, with their conservative views aim to ensure that the system remains stable. However, this is not to say that the liberal drive for progress and experimentation is not essential.

The republicans are pro-business and are in strong favor of capitalism. The democrats, however, want the rich to pay more taxes while the republicans want a reduction in taxes for everyone. As many conservative blog posts state, some of the liberal policies that have been introduced in the past few years are geared towards bypassing the system of checks and balances. Unchecked power to the government, in the name of security, is a threat to the entire nation. It is a threat to everything that the forefathers stood for.

There is no doubt that the United States is a great nation. However, there is a lot of things that have gone off track or has been side tracked. We, the citizens, have to fix what’s broken. Check out these for more information: conservative blog conservative policies
