One of the most difficult tasks at times can be shopping for a new outfit for a particular event, but fit should always be the most important factor. It will make no difference how much is spent or what name is on the label if the item is the wrong color and does not fit properly. The number one priority in how to choose dresses that look good on you should always be the color that best suits you and choosing the right style for your body type.

It is often our desire to choose a particular color according to the event however; it should be based on personal style. One of the main methods used to determine the particular colors is to break it down by our particular skin tone by seasons into fall, summer, spring, and winter. This eliminates purchasing clothing by fashion season and allows for purchasing it based on skin, eye, and hair color.

Winter is considered to be those women having either very dark or very light hair and their veins appear blue in color, with either dark eyes or bright blue ones. These women look much better in cream than when they attempt to wear just pure white. While their best colors are jewel-toned, it is important that they avoid heathers or pastels.

Spring women are those which tend to have the porcelain-like or warm skin tone; blond, reddish-blond, or auburn hair with their veins appearing green in color and either hazel, blue or green eyes. This group also looks better in cream as opposed to white and they look fabulous in warm colors like peach, brown, coral, or ivory. Some of these women may need to avoid wearing black and white, as it may be too stark for their particular skin tone.

Summer women are represented by pale skin, hair, and eyes and look their best in lighter colors, pastels, and neutrals. Women in the autumn category are represented by either a more beige skin tone when possessing a darker complexion or a light peach one if lighter. Autumn women tend to have dark eyes and are beautiful in dark rich colors like gold, orange, dark brown, and one of the few groups able to wear gray.

Online ordering need not be a problem for any special dress if the appropriate guidelines are followed for colors and body type. The natural waistline is the best choice for anyone that is blessed with an hourglass figure. This is someone with hips larger than their waist, and if the waist is larger it is important to avoid this.

A dropped-waist is great if you tend to have a fuller-figure as it will make the waist appear longer and the hips appear smaller. The Basque waistline makes the “V” shape and is usually more fitted, but can make a person appear much slimmer. However, if you tend to have a bit of a belly, this is not the type of waist you want to choose, as it will only accentuate it.

An empire waistline is a good choice for those with a smaller bust and larger or fuller hips. This type of dress can be worn comfortably for those who are pregnant as well and make a stunning outfit. The asymmetrical waistline can do wonderful things for a woman that needs to make her waist look smaller, but unfortunately it will not work well for those women on the shorter side.

The huge selection is the biggest draw for most online shoppers. You can find almost anything you want in any size, from a long sleeve white dress to plus size dresses for juniors. It’s much better than driving all over town.
