The status quo can be mind-numbing. You wake up, fix breakfast and lunches, get the kids out the door, go to work, come home, cook dinner and go to bed. Ho-Hum. Face it, this is okay once in a while, but day after day it becomes unbearable.
We all need to mix things up occasionally. Time to ourselves just to have fun would be a welcome break from our daily routine. We have all told ourselves that what we need now is a vacation. The truth is we really do.
You may think that just the planning of a vacation alone is not worth the hassle. It is a time consuming chore. Besides, with today’s economic situation, we shouldn’t take any time off and we can’t afford to get away to romantic places anyway. Do not give up. There are solutions to these problems. You can take a break and afford it too.
There are lots of people from all corners of the world who have discovered the joys of castle touring. Castles bring to mind far off places like Germany, France and the British Isles - hardly inexpensive ventures. These places are out of our league both financially and time-wise. The good news for Americans is that there are castles right within our own borders.
Bishop’s Castle in Colorado is one such masterpiece. Bishop’s Castle has become one of Colorado’s major tourist attractions. Even folks who live nearby visit the castle often. This particular castle is famous as it is being built by one man, Jim Bishop, and one man alone. Mr. Bishop began building his castle in 1969 and he still going strong.
This castle is currently still a work in progress and the only one to ever work on this castle is none other than Jim Bishop himself. It is open to the public and doesn’t cost any money. A donation is appreciated, though. People from all over the world come to marvel at this castle and how one man’s love led him to build such an incredible castle from the ground up.
Every castle has its own story and each one is different. Touring castles can be a great way to step out of the everyday routine and see the majesty and mystery provided by different castles. There are many castles across America. Many of them are like Bishop’s Castle and don’t cost any money to see.
Everyone needs to break out of their rut and taking a major jaunt to somewhere like Disney World Orlando or Paris can be a real bank account buster. While spending time in such resorts is a wonderful way to vacation, there are so many other things to do that are actually affordable that they should never be overlooked. Things like a castle touring mini-vacation can take us to a new dimension and give us the needed rest, relaxation and respite from rut that can breathe new air into our lives - even the daily grind looks better after a such a getaway.
