The BP Settlement is on. BP may be settling all claims for 25 billion dollars according to Morgan Stanley. They also forcast that BP and the Department of Justice will settle before the trial date of February 27th. This announcement should be coming out before BP gives us its fourth quarter results which is scheduled for February 7th.

The dependency on foreign oil is higher than it has ever been. With nearly all American families having two cars or more, our fuel consumption is at an all time high. And as we can probably all attest so is the cost of gasoline. It used to be that it only took forty or fifty dollars to fill up our tanks, now it costs upwards of sixty dollars.

Hybrid cars are on everyone’s lips these days. Twenty, forty, or fifty dollars for a tank of gas? Who really wants to pay that sort of money? But, frustrated, the fuel customer sighs, but pays up. However, hybrid vehicles are being richly applauded for the small amount of petrol they need to operate, and they are flying off the lots of car dealerships each and everyday in ever increasing numbers.

Today, the question on everybody’s mind is, what is the difference between a hybrid car and a conventional vehicle? There must be some good reason why people are debating whether hybrid cars are worth the money and checking their wallets and savings account to see if they can afford to buy a hybrid car.
