Defining true love is difficult; true love is indeed inexplicable. A good reason for this is that everyone has a different experience of love and for them, that becomes their worldview. It’s impossible to argue on something that isn’t universal, or governed by some laws. Something that may have worked for you, or something that you may consider love, others may not agree with.

Through our journey of life, we form different kinds of relationships. As relationships are formed, we too, grow as a person, and become more exposed to the joys and pains accompanied with it. Most relationships start off as friendship which later turns into perhaps love. At the friendship stage, this is where you get to know more about the other individual personally, professionally and even emotionally. It is at this point that it is important to pay attention to detail. Being sensitive towards the other person helps a big deal in assuring a meaningful and lasting relationship.

Many people believe that relationships are all too easy to establish. However, that isn’t necessarily true. It is extremely difficult to, without trying, find someone who you gel well with immediately. In the very rare case that someone does find someone who he gels well with, the chances of the relationship being successful immediately are slim. It takes time (and a lot of efforts) to grow a relationship to a stage where it is mature and stable.

If someone were to go by what popular fiction depicts, one would say it’s the adrenaline rush, the absolutely strange phenomena of losing sleep and appetite that defines true love. Neither of them captures the essence of love though. It is something that elicits responses that are the polar opposites of each other.
