It does not matter where you live, I am sure that you have storms at some time of the year. In the north of the northern hemisphere, we tend to get lots of rain in winter and spring. In the tropics, there may be monsoons. Whatever you call them, they give off lots of wind and lots of rain in a short space of time - it is basically a storm.

Wood has always been popular as a building material, because it was abundant and easier to manipulate than alternatives like stone. However, man has always needed tools to work wood proficiently. First hatchets and then chisels and later on saws and drills. Between 250 and 150 years ago, during the Industrial Revolution, early wood working tools, amongst others, were mechanized. A 100 years or so ago they became electrified. The first electric drill was made about 100 years ago.

People have been making candles for a very, very long time and so you can believe that there have been a lot of changes in the making of candles too.
