Generally it is cheaper to drive a car yourself to a far-off destination than to ship it. There are variables in figuring cost of driving the car over long distances. A big one is how many miles per gallon your car gets. For example: A car that gets 20 miles to the gallon and is driven 800 miles would require 40 gallons of fuel start to finish. Suppose a national average cost per gallon of gas of $3.00 and the trip would cost $120.00 in fuel alone. This does not include the cost of oil or wear and tear on the tires.

One of the primary concerns of younger drivers is the ability to buy a car. Auto makers have noted that drivers in their early twenties are buying fewer cars than ever before. One main reason for this is the fact that many young individuals haven’t been able to secure employment. Younger buyers generally want to purchase the most affordable vehicle available which usually means buying from a third party off Craigslist or the local newspaper. Individuals who are unsuccessful securing solid employment may not even be able to qualify for financing from companies like Toyota or Ford.
