Unfortunately, many of the graduates may not be able to get a bachelor’s degree. There are those who are lucky enough to afford college education. There are those who would enroll in community colleges. The brilliant ones get to have scholarships for their tertiary education. But there are some who lose hope in earning that bachelor’s degree.
The usual idea is that the grants are only for those who excel in school. Indeed most of the subsidies offered by schools and other agencies are mostly for the achievers. The screening processes are usually very rigid and in the end only very few would actually qualify.
But there’s no need to worry if you’re not a fit to these categories. There’s always an opportunity waiting just around the corner. If you have a talent, characteristic, or a handicap or practically anything that’s unique about you, then you can surely find some wacky scholarships that can send you off to college.
You can actually land a grant based on your physical characteristics. If you always have to stand at the back of the line because you’re too tall, then you can get the scholarship offered for extremely tall students. The same is true if you are way shorter than everyone else. Some societies for dwarfism also offer scholarship grants.
If there’s something that you are passionate about or if you advocate a cause, you also have a good chance of getting financial aid for your education. For instance, you can get financial aid from a vegetarian advocacy by joining their essay writing contest.
If you have some unique talents, there are contests that can win you some wacky scholarships. For instance, expert duck callers could win a scholarship from a duck calling competition. It’s not necessary that you’d be academically smart or athletic. You can actually get a scholarship by simply being who you are.
