Taking care of your teeth is important. Its basic to all of us. But what people do not know is how to take care of their teeth properly. Some people just leave it to brushing. And sadly enough, for these people, they don’t even know how to brush properly.
Brushing is only the first part of cleaning. The right toothpaste is essential to proper brushing so you need to pick one with enough fluoride and active whiteners content. To clean the teeth efficiently, brush with a circular motion. After brushing the teeth, the tongue needs to be brushed as well. The tongue works like a culturing dish for bacteria. And a dirty tongue is a source of bad breath. Another way to clean the tongue is by using a tongue scraper.
Flossing is as important and should be done at least once a day. Brushing is never enough. You cannot remove trapped food particles in between teeth with simple brushing. Spoiled food produces a lot of acid. So if you allow food to be trapped in between your teeth, it can get spoiled and produce acids that can cause tooth decay. This is why before the day ends; you might want to floss your teeth to rid them of some leftovers.
It’s not just cleaning though that ensures a healthy set of teeth. Your habits have a lot to do with the health and wellness of your teeth. Coke and other soda are highly acidic and can easily corrode and damage the teeth. Same thing with liquors that are a bit less acidic compared to soda. The same goes with smoking. Lots of tar and nicotine can get trapped and adhere on your teeth.
Nutrition has a lot to do as well. Refrain from sweets and goods that get easily trapped. For sugar, you can use xylitol for more health and wellness. Xylitol gum is also available and no Xylitol side effects have been established yet.
It takes more than just brushing to make sure your teeth is healthy. Check this page out to learn more about xylitol gum and Xylitol side effects.
