This is how it functions. You sign on to receive a sampling of something ; let’s say it is an acne remedy. This product has a retail cost of $50, but all you’ve got to pay is five greenbacks shipping and handling. What you do is send your invoice in, and you allegedly get paid $20 for your time and effort, because you’ve got to take the time to cancel the automatic monthly shipment of acne remedy which you might not have realized is going to be charged to your ATM card monthly.
Great deal uh? You pay five bucks and get back $20 so you made $15 profit. The affiliate that referred you also makes a nice small check as the acne remedy company paid them a good commission to get a new sale. Seems like a great situation. Or are you scratching your head?
Is Project Payday a Honest Method to Earn a Few Bucks?
Project Payday is a system that is intended to teach folk how to earn commissions promoting “cost per action” offers, but unfortunately these techniques are highly questionable, like the example above.
Are you acquainted with CPA offers? These often begin with a trial offer, maybe offering something for which you just have to pay shipping and handling, the hope being the company will get additional sales and payments later on.
All those garish banners that you see online offering you iPods for a penny, free money or computers if you fill-in the form or finish a survey, are all just a part of this cost per action incentivized scheme. These incentivized freebie websites as they are called, are all part of the same marketing model as Project Payday falls into.
That’s not to say you won’t receive your free iPod after filling in a survey or checking boxes next to other affiliate offers that you’re probably not very interested in anyhow, but believe me there actually is a big catch. This is just a way for the company to capture your private information, and you may find that your acne cure cream is being delivered each month and being billed to your Mastercard before you realize it everyone knows there is no such thing as free.
Of course there might be individuals that are genuinely enthusiastic about a certain service or product and of course that’s a different situation perhaps they really do need a monthly supply of acne cream! But this is an affiliate marketing scheme which fundamentally bribes you into completing an offer and then tells you can cancel it right afterwards the company whose product it is, is getting cheated.
The company is losing money because it is paying the affiliate and you for doing something that is essentially dishonorable and dishonest. Accordingly, the answer to any query about Project Payday will probably include the phrase” no it’s not ethical.” But then if you have no morals and are happy to collect commissions that way, then at last if enough folk do it the company will ultimately go broke and you will essentially be murdering the golden goose.
Suffice it to point out there are many folks making massive incomes doing this part-time by promoting these dubious CPA offers. The ones that make the serious cash are people who can promote an offer in such a way as to attract folks who may genuinely be interested in trying the product. If you can master the art and science of marketing, you too could probably earn a good living doing this too.
