Article marketers generally fell into two basic categories, until the changes rendered one of them obsolete. Some focused on getting their content syndicated, while the majority relied on article directories to get ranked by the search engines. Since the updates, however, the search engines are really interested in ranking only quality articles, so it’s not enough to simply have them published in a directory.
Most of the articles you will find in the article directories are the same format. Of course you need to provide good value to readers, and that generally compels content writers to stick with the expository format. Dare to do something others do not such as different kinds of article strategies. We all have our opinions, and writing something expounding on yours for whatever topic is great. If you find yourself lacking in inspiration, then use your phrases from your niche in Google Alerts - problem solved. At that point you sit back and wait for all the goodies to appear in your inbox. With this method you only have to maybe summarize the news, and then you can provide a link if you want. When you think about it, you will never, ever run out of content that is different and relevant. Also, it breaks-up the usual forms of article or content writing and will engage your site visitors.
Something else you may not have ever seen is writing a little debating article with some niche expert. No worries as this will not be the debate you are thinking about, it is just done in your written content. When you do this, merely present the opposing views, and then do a good job of saying what your thoughts are on the matter. But still, this is something very rarely seen in places like article directories, and publishing this on your site will provide new and engaging reading.
You know that doing business online is completely dependent on being seen (exposure) and getting traffic from the right audience. I will suggest to you that there are many more possibilities for generating traffic, and even links, when you use the ideas just discussed. You cannot let any impatience get in the way here, and it takes a little time and focused efforts.
