How I Got Myself A Reliable Netbook

Not a laptop but a netbook. Bringing a laptop in school is very inconvenient. Compared to laptops, netbooks are a lot smaller and easy to carry.
I did not need a quad core processor or a 17 inch screen. I also did not have any need for a terabyte hard drive. What I needed was a slow working device that did not have a huge capacity. What I needed was a compact device for word processing and making basic presentations while having the capability to hookup in any Wi-Fi zone. Another feature of netbooks that I like is that they fit nicely in my back pack.
There are specific features that I looked for when I purchased my netbook. I had to make sure the operating system was up to date. Back then, Windows 7 just came up so I didn’t go for a netbook with XP on it. Portability is important because I had to move around campus. I was deciding between a netbook and 15″ laptop but I still had to go with the netbook simply because it weighed a lot less. As for the processor, Intel Atom was enough for me since I didn’t need any high end specs. Mine had 1.60 GHz Atom which was more than enough to watch YouTube while downloading articles.
Wireless capability is also important. I had to make sure it can connect to any Wi-Fi zone. An extra feature that I got was Bluetooth capability. I didn’t mind if my device did not have an optical drive because I easily got myself an external optical drive.
I also wanted ensured that I purchased a package including a year’s subscription of Norton Anti-Virus. Due to the nature of netbooks as being used primarily for internet purposes, getting an antivirus subscription is essential. If you are looking for a netbook yourself, try to get one online. There are refurbished netbooks that cost a lot lower. However, be careful about refurbished netbooks for sale. It would be best to get them from authorized resellers.
