There are many of us who spend the better part of our day at work, actually more time working than sleeping. We are proud of the jobs we do and put all our time and energy into performing our job duties as best we possibly can. This means lots of late nights at the office or stringing power lines in the pre-dawn hours across rural landscapes. No matter what our jobs consist of, we go all out to perform at our peak day after day. This may be the reason we recoil in shock when confronted with the employer who refuses to fight for our rights when injured on the job.

Many employers look the other way when one of their employees sustains an on-the-job injury. They are far more concerned with what this unfortunate incident will mean to the company rather than the wounded employee. So it comes as a shock and major point of frustration when the employee knows how much he has done for the company all the years he has worked there. One would think that the company would put up a major battle for the employee to make sure he is treated fairly by the worker’s compensation carrier the employer contributes to regularly on his behalf. Unbelievably, this is not what usually happens.

An injured employee certainly doesn’t want to fight with a worker’s compensation representative on top of everything else that has befallen him. His main objective is to get better and be healthy enough to go back to work. Instead the injured party finds that he must do battle to get his medical bills paid and be compensated for his recuperation time off work. Fighting a worker’s compensation insurance company can be draining, stressful and fruitless. This is where a law firm specializing in these cases comes into your corner.

Fighting for compensation when we are injured can be absolutely exhausting, not to mention stressful. Having a lawyer to fight for us can not only help to relieve the stress and exhaustion plaguing us but they can also get us far more money than we could get on our own. Lawyers work tirelessly to fight for us and get us everything we deserve when we are injured.

There are many employees with the mistaken belief that they do not require the services of an attorney and are unwilling to pay the associated costs. They figure they can get more from the worker’s compensation company than the cost of hiring an attorney would be. And, sometimes a company will help you get those medical bills and lost wages paid for, but it is still true that a lawyer can get more money for you because they know how to navigate the system and manipulate it in favor of their client.

Sustaining an injury at work is no holiday. When we hurt and cannot work, our income, families and emotional well being all suffer. It seems natural that the hard work we put in on behalf of our employers and the pride we take in our jobs would somehow be recognized by our company and they would reciprocate accordingly by supporting us in our time of need.

The unfortunate side of this matter is that the employer rarely responds in this manner. We are left alone to fight this serious battle by ourselves. Anyone who has been in this situation will understand what a tremendous difference can be made by having a lawyer who specializes in personal injury in your corner. We deserve their expertise and the fact that they relieve us of the inordinate stress, frustration and exhaustion we would feel if we had to go it alone.
