Equal Opportunities:Weird Scholarships
Posted by Bob Pwetersmith in Uncategorized, tags: education, financial support, general, misc, Miscellaneous, news, pell grant, scholarship, UncategorizedOne of the primordial problems in the world today is education. A lot of students quit school because they can no longer afford it financially. The government does try to subsidize education but this cannot cover all those who need it. It is usually offered for those who really excel academically. But those who fall short can still hold on to some weird scholarships.
when you say scholarship people would often relate it to the smartest students. But there are recently so many groups and organizations who acknowledge that there are more who need help in education. They decided to offer scholarships for very unique or sometimes weird reasons. There are many weird scholarships today that give some students the opportunity to pursue their education. Here are a few of them:
* Vegetarian scholarships- herbivores now have the chance to grab an education finance grant through a vegetarian organization. The first and most important qualification is that you are a vegetarian. Then you can write an essay about the benefits of being vegetarian and if they like it they will give you the grant. This does not just promote their cause but it also helps many people as well.
* Height scholarships-there are organizations for extremely tall or short people that also offer scholarship grants. This class usually experiences discrimination. But these organizations would like to show the world that there’s more than the mere physical attribute. Everyone should have equal opportunities in education.
* Special skill scholarship-even the wackiest skills can be a source of education funding. There’s one duck calling competition where they offer the champion a scholarship grant.
These are just some of the weird scholarships. The whole point of showing these is not to have something to laugh at. Sure it would tickle your funny bone to hear something extraordinary. But if you dig deeper you’ll find out that there’s more to it than just the humor. It spells a clear message for equal opportunities in education.
