Doctors are the glue that holds your health together, a core ingredient in the continued well-being of the earth’s population. Actually, doctors are the only thing standing between us and Armageddon. This may seem melodramatic but evil bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi abound to the extent they outnumber us well into the billions. They lurk everywhere. They are extremely adaptable to whatever environmental conditions they find themselves in and they are totally without conscious. They are nasty and ruthless and they don’t care.

When we are young, few of us know everything about the ways our life styles will affect us when we are older. We hear it all the time with people talking about how they are burning the candle at both ends and most of us would probably have to admit that we ourselves have done that on occasion.

A lot of children have a hero to look up to and respect. They want to be just like him/her when they grow up. It is typically a famous person or icon of some sort, a family member or even a close friend.

One thing we can count on is that our world is always changing. We wouldn’t even recognize our own home town if we saw a picture of it a hundred years ago. Back then people somehow found a way to live without computers, cell phones or Blackberries. We cannot imagine what it would be like to communicate solely by letter sent through the U.S. Mail and wait at least 30 days to receive it to find out what was happening with our friends and relatives a few states away. Now, of course, we can email them in the far corners of the world and they get the message in seconds.

Today everyone in the country is aware of the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s disease and that the disease is growing. More people are diagnosed with the disease every day. Many of us have a relative or friend that has been afflicted by this disease that has no cure. Alzheimer’s disease is an extremely difficult one because it affects not just the sufferer but the family members who care for them.
