There are a number of businesses where the services of a sales assistant are needed. For the most part, they are hired by retail stores. They can also be employed by big manufacturing companies and brokerage firms, to handle routine client inquiries and transactions. As more and more companies operate online, it is not uncommon to come across virtual sales assistants as well, working offshore either from home or an outsourced call center company. Regardless of where they work, the job descriptions of a sales assistant are inherently similar.
