I knew that I had silverfish infestation a few weeks ago when I noticed that my wallpapers had irregular holes and most of my old books had small scrapings around the binding. Silverfish are nasty little critters that thrive in dark and damp areas in our homes. They are small wingless insects, typically half an inch in length, and have a silver or gray color and move like fishes hence their name. They are found all over the world and their love for fabric, paper and anything made of starch makes them particularly annoying pests. They are not vectors of disease but can still contaminate food items with their excreta. They are known to live for 2-8 years and lay a hundred eggs during their lifespan.
