I find when many people come out in to the forest this almost habitual method of looking at the world is carried over. For the most part, when people go into the wilderness on a hike they are going to be staring a few meters in front of them along the path they are walking down. Plus they also miss out on a large amount of what’s taking place around them. Lacking the experience of what’s around them in nature.

Nevertheless, I also find that if I go away from the journal entry for a few hrs, come back again and read again over it that the intention gets to be much more clear the second time around.

I back then that time was in slow motion. Like I am fully conscious of every second. I was then conscious of what it had been like to be the wave. What it had been like to be one of the other surfers within the ocean water. And what it was like to be the spectators viewing along the shore. Totally in ‘the zone’.
