Producing music consists of several interrelated activities, but generally speaking it pertains to audio recording, mixing audio channels and editing the output. Audio mixing is also an important aspect of music production and it involves combining multiple recorded sounds into one or more channels in order to produce music which is appealing to listeners. Although considered a post-production process, audio mastering is also an integral component being that it involves preparing and transferring the recorded music into a data storage device for mass distribution.
