Are You Still Using Chemical Pesticides
Posted by Michael Nutt in Uncategorized, tags: food, growing, health, home, natural, organic, pest, pest control, UncategorizedIt is a well known fact that the use of pesticides is a huge health issue. With that in mind people are still using these unhealthy products each and every day, to the tune of a billion pounds a year of dangerous pesticides being used on our food and around our homes.
Even though our food is washed before getting to the grocery store and many people will still rinse the vegetables when they get them home, there are still trace pesticides that people consume, and this is causing some rather large health issues.
It is also causing huge health issues with farmers and farm workers. With over 20,000 pesticide related illnesses reported every year, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, this is really becoming a problem.
Even though farmers and other people who work on farms have more than there share of pesticide related illnesses, peoples pets have even more. According to the Animal Poison Control Center, there are over 30 thousand reports every year of pet poisoning from pesticides.
One of the main causes is normal everyday people. The problem is that when we see a weed on our driveway the first thing we do is to grab a bottle of weed spray that is full of chemicals, and many people will even use chemicals as a preventative measure.
One of the main health issues is that pesticides have been know to cause or contribute to, Parkinson’s disease, cancer and even certain birth defects in our children. What I don’t understand is that with all the evidence out there people continue to use theses pesticides.
One would think that the government would step in and create laws to help regulate pesticides even more. Did you know that pesticide companies don’t even have to test there products meant for home use with the same standards as products for commercial use??? This means that home pesticides can actually be worse for you than commercial pesticides.
So knowing that these chemical pesticides are bad for you and your pets may not be enough so look at this on a planetary scale. These pesticides contaminate our water, soil and air, which means we are killing our own planet. Look at it this way. These pesticides are killing off honeybee’s, if we end up killing off all the honeybee’s, our way of life will be gone. The consequences can be disastrous
So the best thing that everyone could do is to start using only organic pest control or to hire someone to take care of your pests for you, organically If you care about the planet, yourself or even your children, stop using chemical based pesticides and start saving our planet.
