Carrying my load down interstate 5 with the radio jamming and clean mountain air flowing through my wild hair, I came to the realization that trucking is more than a job but it genuinely is a way of life. Driving up the local roads in the northwest, an enormous elk holds my attention from very far off, I slow and get a once in a lifetime sight of a large bull with antlers coated in velvet. This is an illustration of the sights that I notice all the time on the wide open road in my long haul truck. I wouldn’t swap this living for a single thing in the world.

It all started about nine months ago, when my wife and I decided it would be a good idea to modernize our home. It took a lot of talking about because neither of us genuinely wanted to take the project on as we both have active business lives. However, one Sunday afternoon, I took the bull by the horns and started to strip the paper off the walls and the ceiling in the kitchen. My wife soon joined in.
